Deep thoughts by A.me

Things you learn when you get older, what to eat on a long car ride. A. Beef jerky and b. Cheez-its. Cheez-its are neutral so you won't vom and beef jerkey has lots of protein so you will stay full longer.

You're welcome.

Paint Color Fail

I am not allowed to pick paint colors. (I probably shouldn't even be able to paint)

I seriously fail at it.

I'm the type of person that will go in looking for a subtle color and without a doubt will walk out with the brightest color I could find.

I'm also the type of person that will paint a kitchen 7 times. (Yup, my poor husband)

With all that said, my husband (and probably everyone else around me) is probably tired of hearing me talk about my forever changing design needs.

-I blame this on HGTV.
Those darn Property Brothers
make me want to change
something up after every episode I watch-

So I will tell you. Whoever you are. If there is even someone there.

When we first moved into our house I was so excited for a space that was mine that I could decorate however my heart desired. HGTV just put out their first magazine and on the first page there was a Target ad with a dark grey painted room and gorgeous plum purple accents. So what did I do? I went out and grabbed the darkest grey I could find and painted that huge living room a dark color. Yup, that was a dumb idea. I have to say, I don't think it's ugly (I actually really like it) but it sure is dark.

I no longer have those black couches. I had to brighten it up somehow so we replaced it with tan ones.

My family and friends make fun of me because every wall in my house is anything but neutral. I'm not a neutral person. I like color.

Remember that kitchen I mentioned that I painted at least 7 times. Here's the paint color that is currently on the wall.

To me, this is a neutralish teal. You should have seen the colors before it. I think I'm the only one though that loves it. I just can't pick a neural color if it saves my life.
(Sorry for the terrible pictures which in no way shows the true color of the paint)

I wish I could be the person that could do this:

But, I'm not. I'm the person that goes in and picks the brightest teal ever. I think I would have to have someone come in and do it for me because I don't think I could bring myself to paint my walls tan.

Which, finally, brings me to the point of this whole post. I must be growing up because I'm actually wanting to paint my living room a neutral color. Yup, you read that right. Neutral. Me. I'm really into tan walls and small pops of color, like the picture of the kitchen. So I'm going to do it. At least I think I am.

Did I mention I'm terrible at picking out paint colors?

So here's the debate. Should I paint my living room a greige (greyish beighish) or tan?
I will be accenting with pops of teal of course.

Here's the two colors I'm debating from:

Benjamin Moore Abalone 2108-60

or

Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan

I know they look similar and I know I will probably buy a sample, go home paint it on my wall and then change my mind. I love these pictures though. I really wish I could take an interior design class so I could learn how to decorate like normal people do.

That's my ramble. What do you think? Greige or tan?
